Fighter Pit Game Overview

Fighter Pit is Hacksaw Gaming’s latest foray into slots centred around the theme of fighting or brawling. In my experience, this was one of the most engaging video slot games I’ve played in recent memory. It’s engaging, backed by a deeply entertaining theme, and has more features up its sleeve. How does it differ from Hacksaw Gaming’s other slots, and is it worth it? That’s what I’ll answer in my Fighter Pit slot review.

Fighter Pit Slot Game Review

Hacksaw Gaming has mastered the formula of delivering slots with medium volatility and decent RTPs. This is best reflected in recent titles such as Hounds of Hell and Marlin Masters, which also showcase just how far the studio has come in making slots that are grandiose in their themes and visuals.

Theme

Hacksaw Gaming is no stranger to slots themed around street fighting and brawling. While titles such as Break Bones and Cash Crew were typical in both their presentation and gameplay, Hacksaw Gaming’s Fist of Destruction featured an interesting mechanic involving wilds and multipliers. Fighter Pit more or less feels like a spiritual successor of Fist of Destruction, both in terms of gameplay and thematic execution.

I’ve reviewed a lot of casino games, and none of them have featured a theme as wacky as a fight between punk rockers and pirates. The theme sure doesn’t make a lot of sense to me, but it makes the game more entertaining.

Graphics, Sounds, and Animation

The aforementioned pirate and punk rocker stand on either side of the screen in Fighter Pit, which evokes a sense of competition between them. The characters and the symbols are designed accordingly, as there are pirate symbols (a bearded male pirate, a female joker), and punk rocker symbols (a man with a mohawk, a riot girl).

While the pirate side is majorly draped in red and black clothing, the punk side characteristically uses light green and shades of violet and purple, and I really like this stylistic choice.

While graphics and animations are always the strong suit of Hacksaw Gaming, the soundtrack sets the mood as well. It’s a constantly developing electro-ambient track that is led by a synth-driven melody, and a rhythm play on an electric guitar.

RTP, Payout, and Volatility

Fighter Pit has a rather standard RTP (return to player) of 96.30%. This is a bit higher than the industry average of 96%, but not by an extended margin to be called an advantage exactly. High rollers would really prefer it, however, since this is a full-fledged high-volatility game.

This is reflected by its extensive betting range as well since it ranges from €0.10 to €100, so both new and experienced players can find the bet amounts they’re most comfortable with. It also offers the potential for players to get as much as 10,000x the bet amount, which doesn’t sound as high as the win potential from other slot games, but at least this figure is realistic.

Gameplay

Fighter Pit has a 5×4 grid and delivers wins whenever any of its designated 14 paylines are executed. This grid design is typical of Hacksaw Gaming, and so are the symbols. While the low-paying symbols include 10, J, Q, K, and A, high-paying symbols include a female red pirate, a male pirate, a female riot girl and a male punk rocker.

It delivers the classic online slot experience where you need to pick standard betting options, use auto-play if you wish to, and run with it! To make things interesting, there’s a scatter symbol for free spins, which triggers the bonus game after three or more of these FS symbols land on the grid.

Furthermore, there’s a wild symbol which when lands five times triggers a 10x payout. Finally, the fist symbols make all the difference for both of the teams, as they increase their points, and function as the wild symbols. Take a look at the paytable below.

Furthermore, Fighter Pit, since it is backed by HTML5 technology, can run on online casinos on your smartphone. I think this is a feature that gets taken for granted a lot, but it directly affects both the quality and the quantity of the player pool.

Features

I found Fighter Pit to be abundant with features, and this led to my gaming experience being positive for the most part. Here’s what these features are, and how they can change your trajectory of wins on this game.

Standard Wild Symbol

As noted above, there are standard wild symbols in the game that can replace all but Scatter and Fist symbols. When executed, it increases the payout 10x the bet amount.

Wild Fist Reel Symbol

The Wild Fist Reel symbol, upon activation, punches upwards, which turns all the symbols above it into wilds. However, they only activate if they’re among the winning combinations themselves. Even though a fist symbol could belong to the pirate or the punk team, it barely makes a difference.

Multiplier

When executing, if the fist symbol punches through a wild or the opposite team, players get a multiplier from 2x to 200x.

Showdown Free Spins Game

The victory point round is a little different from the base game. Three FS symbols trigger the Showdown bonus game with 10 free spins. While there are standard mechanics, both of the teams enter a competition to collect the most victory levels.

Victory Level Mechanics

Each team starts with a default of 3+ levels, with each punch from one side striking the symbols of the other, increasing the levels. After 3 VP for either team, a respin gets triggered with an epic drop. Overall, the Epic Drop is a sweet mechanic that increases the odds for overall wins tremendously.

Ultimate Showdown

Everything that applies to the Showdown bonus games applies here as well. However, each team starts off with 4+ victory levels, and Epic Drops yield bigger bonuses.

Bonus Buy Feature

Here are all the options players can use to improve their odds for big wins.
