This is perhaps the most glorious-looking slot game that I have reviewed in a long time. Props to Barbara Bang for coming up with such lively designs for the game, which played a key role in keeping Lair of the Serpent Monster entertaining for us over long periods.

 

Another plus point is its unconventional grid layout, as there are five reels with 4-3-3-3-4 grids. That doesn’t mean that this is one of the best online casino games ever, and we’ll mention why in the next few sections.

Theme

The theme is one of the most substantial aspects of Lair of the Serpent Monster. If you were to play demo games that share a similarity or two with this slot game, you wouldn’t likely find many titles that are so cohesively tied together through their themes. The basic storyline of the game features an adventurer (the player) finding themselves in a mystical cave that hosts a terrifyingly gigantic snake.

 

The goal is to extract treasure, and it was so great for me to see how high-paying symbols, such as serpent monster eggs, contributed to bigger payouts. It’s a seamless execution of a theme, which is always expected of a studio with the stature of Barbara Bang.

Graphics, Sounds, and Animation

I think Lair of the Serpent Monster looks stellar. It’s much better than many other adventure-monster games on the market. Barbara Bang slot games tend to look good in general, which is evidenced by some of their other titles, such as Vikings Wind of Change, Vampire Survivors, Dragon Knight, and Diggers Gold Rush.

 

Not only does the giant snake in the background look highly detailed and well-animated, but its placement emphasizes just how grand it is. This adds to my experience while I made bets on the game, and this is the kind of retention that the audio promotes with its evocative beats and terrifying rhythm.

RTP, Payout, and Volatility

Even though Lair of the Serpent Monster is quite a sight to behold, it features a standard RTP of 96%, which I think should have been a bit higher. A high RTP usually incentivizes players to stick to the slot game because the potential for making back your losses is relatively high.
