#Loot the Train Introduction
Loot the Train
Loot the Train Game Overview
Wild West themes are not entirely uncommon in the world of online slot games. After all, the outlaws from the bygone era still remain infamous for their notoriety, and this is combined wonderfully with the thrill of slot gaming in Loot the Train. Mascot Gaming has been on a roll with most of its recent releases, and this online casino game is right up there with the rest.
Of course, Loot the Train isn’t perfect, and I am going to shed some light on the aspects of the game that could use some fine-tuning.
Pros
- Exciting theme
- Impeccable audio and visuals
- High volatilit
- Innovative bonus game
Cons
- Below-average RTP
Loot the Train Slot Game Review
There are very few online slot games that manage to balance all their features to create a balanced experience. Is Loot the Train one of such slots? It isn’t, but it’s definitely a step in the right direction by Mascot Gaming. The gaming studio isn’t a frequent visitor of the genre, with most of their catalogue featuring fruity, Egyptian, and other slots with mostly whimsical themes.
Mascot Gaming tends to stick to lower RTPs, and this is consistent with Loot the Train as well. However, we think the game redeems itself with an excellent theme, innovative features, and great execution of its audio-visual elements. Before you play demo games to gauge where Loot the Train stands, I’ll share what I think about its theme, graphics, and more below.
Theme
Wild West slot games tend to have a very strong influence from Rockstar Games’ 2010 title, Red Dead Redemption, and its 2018 sequel, Red Dead Redemption 2. The influence becomes clear when I analyzed Loot the Train from a thematic perspective. While it seems like the developers down at Mascot Gaming thought it better to take inspiration from another game instead of innovating upon its theme, I would argue that the execution of its theme is nearly perfect, and I wouldn’t want to change a thing.
Graphics, Sounds, and Animation
Mascot Gaming is behind some of the best-looking casino games. I can think of some characteristic examples to back this up, such as Deepsea Riches, Trump card Queen, Re Kill, Three Corsairs, and Merry Scary Christmas.
Luckily, they bring their penchant for creating stunning audio-visual experiences to Loot the Train, which has lively animations, gorgeous graphics, and a soundtrack that matches the thrill of a railway heist.
RTP, Payout, and Volatility
The RTP (return to player) of Loot the Train is 95.02%, which is much lower than the industry standard of 96%. This means that players who are hoping to score a big payday will be a tad disappointed, but a lower RTP is to be expected from Mascot Gaming titles.
A lower RTP adds more thrill to the game, and with Loot the Train being a high-volatility title, I genuinely see this game being popular among experienced slot players who want to feel the experience with every spin of the wheel while making a bet.
It would have been great if it had a larger high-end for betting since it ranges between €0.20 and €10. Also, I think the maximum win potential of up to 75x is a great motivator for both experienced and new slot players to check out Loot the Train.
Gameplay
Having a pretty standard layout with five reels and four rows, Loot the Train has only 20 paylines that execute from left to right. Its gameplay combines innovative features with a more traditional playstyle, where you can set the bet amount and re-spin continuously, or opt for the autoplay panel and leave the hassle of constant-button-pressing out of the game.
I really like the design of the symbols and how their values have been assigned. It’s not super innovative, but it works well with the bonus game feature and standard payouts. While there are five low and high-paying symbols in Loot the Train, there are wilds, treasure safes, and gold symbols for even higher payouts.
It’s one of the few games that run on smartphones when you access it through online casinos. I like how Mascot Gaming has remained caught up with time since they actively imbue their games with the HTML5 technology for multi-platform support.
Features
While the base game has enough symbols to ensure big payouts, the special features in Loot the Train include bonus games that in my opinion were the most outstanding part of my experience of analyzing this game.
Bonus Game
The Loot the Train bonus game can either trigger organically through the Safe or Gold symbols or with the bonus buy feature. I found the mechanics of using both multipliers and additive modifiers to increase the potential payout quite interesting.
Symbols in Bonus Game
A safe symbol delivers standard multiplier values, while the “bag of gold” symbol has larger values to offer. On the flip side, the cowgirl symbol brings in more additive modifiers, while the native girl symbol increases the maximum FS to 5 and then increases the modifiers till the end of the round.
Buy Bonus Feature
At 48x the bet amount, you can unlock the bonus game without waiting for the symbols to align. While this is a standard feature, I think it’s a more feasible deal to put in 48x the bet amount than a much higher value that other slot games carry.
