Dead, Dead, or Deader Slot Game Review

Dead, Dead, or Deader carries the gritty and brash theme that is characteristic of Nolimit City. D-Day is one of the finest examples of this and even features a massive maximum win of 55,555x. While Dead, Dead, or Deader doesn’t quite reach that mark, it still has a decent RTP, multiple paylines, and an exciting theme.

Theme

When you play slots with a gritty theme, there’s rarely something that’s too much on the nose. That is where Dead, Dead, or Deader deviates from the standard. Part of the official description of the game screams Wild West, reading, “No talkin’ just shootin’! The West has never been deadlier, so if anything goes wrong, your fault, my fault: I’m gonna blow your head off!”

It’s one of the edgier games from Nolimit City, and we’re certainly here for it. Given how it returns to form with more classical game mechanics, the theme certainly keeps it all interesting.

Graphics, Sounds, and Animations

We find the aesthetics of Dead, Dead, or Deader to be fantastic. Rockstar Games’ 2018 release, Red Dead Redemption, has an evident influence on the game’s appearance. While shades of red emphasize its dangerous thematic aspects, antique white and beige transport the player back to the 1800s at the peak of the Wild, Wild West.

Both the sounds and animations are great, but the music, especially, sounds too modern for old standards. The SFX makes up for it, though, and with wins and bonuses, it adds a lot of personality to the game.

RTP, Payout, and Volatility

Dead, Dead, or Deader has a decent RTP (return-to-player) of 96.20%, making it perfect for beginners and experienced players to play for real money. It’s the high volatility model that might concern newer players, which mirrors the gritty theme of the game. Most Nolimit City slots operate with high volatility, so this isn’t entirely unexpected. New slot players are advised to play free games before putting any real money on the table to see what they are letting themselves in for.

While the lowest amount you can bet is €0.20, the maximum bet is capped at €100. However, the game features a pretty exciting payment structure and can potentially deliver a maximum win of 19,349x the bet amount to players.

Gameplay

Played across a 5×3 grid, Dead, or Deader offers a traditional take on Wild West slot games. However, it’s still extremely fun to play, which is conveyed through its elaborate gameplay. Coming with 243 paylines, the online slot game registers wins when three or more symbols match across a pattern.

There are 10 regular symbols: royals, whisky, handcuffs, police badges, bandits, and revolvers. Wild symbols are in the fold, which can substitute other symbols to deliver a win and bring in a 1.2x payout in a club of five. Successive wilds also accumulate multipliers, which results in bigger wins for players throughout the game.

Features

Even though it plays like a traditional online slot game, Dead, Dead, or Deader offers excellent features for maximizing fun and returns.

 XNudge Wilds

When executing, the xNudge Wilds peer fully into view and add +1 to the win multiplier. However, there are three scenarios regarding what the xNudge Wilds might trigger.

  • The Hanging – A respin gets triggered with the symbol nudging down.
  • The Deadlock – Upon respinning, a hanged might get a Deadlock, which triggers a respin with a higher multiplier count.
  • The Dropout – This means a failure to respin, as the character being hanged falls out, and if this happens after the respin, any bonus or multipliers you’ve gained in that time revert to normal.

Dead and Deader Spins

Three scatters award 12 Dead Spins, while four scatters trigger 12 Deader Spins. If there are two scatters in the fold, they turn into wilds.

  • Upon activation, Dead Spins transforms into Deader Spins if a scatter lands on the rightmost reel.
  • Dead Spins are 12 FS with 2x multipliers, but Deader Spins are 12 FS with 3x multipliers.

Bonus Buy

There are incredible bonus buys to tilt fortune in your favor, too:

  • 1.5x the bet guarantees a scatter symbol in the 2nd reel in the next spin.
  • 7x the bet assures players that an xNudge Wild will land in any of the three middle reels in the next spin.
  • 799x the bet gets players three xNudge Wilds.
  • Dead Spins cost 99x the bet.
  • Deader Spins costs 499x or a 50% chance for 299x the bet.
