Brute Force Slot Review
Theme of the Brute Force Slot
There were times when graphics were crunchy, soundtracks crispy, and heroes epic and brutal. When fighting villains meant shooting oversized laser guns all over the place with little tactic or thought. Those were times when using brute force could get you around. In video games, that is. And that’s precisely what inspired this slot game — the brutish video games of those times.
Brute Force by Nolimit City is a nostalgic piece that heavily relies on the oversimplified and stereotypical depictions of action heroes in a specific era of video gaming. Meet Joshua and Jason, two muscular dudes who wield massive laser guns. They’re our heroes and seem quite determined to deal with Hyper, the supervillain.
It’s left to our imagination to guess what nefarious deeds he’s committed, but we can expect only the worst from him by the looks of it. He’s a bluish, pale-faced alien in power armor, and the hateful look on his face tells us he’s been up to no good.
Graphic, Sounds and Animations
What sets Brute Force slot apart from most other slot games at first glance is the pixelated graphics, which are almost crunchy. The background of the game is a dark industrial setting, because where else would you confront the supervillain, while all the symbols are, in contrast, bright and colorful. The lower-paying symbols are simple letters A, K, Q, J, and 10, while the higher-paying symbols are villain rangers in power armor of bright colors.
The soundtrack is the same as the ones in the old Sega games, and quite frankly, nothing other than that could fit this game well. It’s energetic and with that crispy 8-bit sound. Also, it turns into a power metal banger during the Brute Spins. Animations are aggressive and dramatic, and they totally add to the thrill. Everything is just on point here.
RTP, Payout and Volatility
The RTP is a decent 96.08%, but the volatility is quite brutish. It’s not extreme or insane, as some other games by the same provider, but it’s still not naive. You’ll have to go through some long dry streaks, so keep calm and endure it. But keep in mind that when you trigger the Brute or Super Brute Spins, your wins can skyrocket in a matter of seconds. The max win potential is a brutal 40,000x. We’ve seen more, but nevertheless, this is still a max win worthy of an action hero. So, it’s definitely worth the patience.
Brute Force Gameplay
As with any high-volatility game, I suggest you play the Brute Force slot demo at one of the best casino sites before tackling the game with real money. Get a feeling of the game’s dynamics first so that you come prepared. There’s no joking around when you’re dealing with pixelated supervillains!
How Rewarding Are the Regular Spins
As I’ve mentioned before, the Brute Force slot likes to keep things simple. It’s played on a 5×5 grid without any bonus rows. There are 10 regular paying symbols and just 21 paylines, which is kind of typical, but we’d love to see those paylines expand. Also, the regular symbols are significantly simplified in terms of payment. The lower-paying ones all have just a single set of payment multipliers, while even the higher-paying ones aren’t all different. They award the following payments for three, four, and five of them in a payline:
| Symbol | 3x | 4x | 5x |
| A, K, Q, J, 10 | 0.25 | 1 | 2 |
| Green ranger | 0.5 | 2.5 | 5 |
| Yellow ranger | 0.5 | 2.5 | 5 |
| Red ranger | 1 | 5 | 10 |
| Blue ranger | 1 | 5 | 10 |
| Orange ranger | 2 | 10 | 20 |
In addition to the paying symbols, regular rounds can land Scatters and xNudge Wilds, which come in three different types with different multipliers. Surprisingly, plain Wilds are absent from Brute Force, and we only have the full-reel xNudge Wilds. They carry a certain multiplier, which increases with every nudge they make and is applied to winning symbols. Scatters trigger a set of 10 free spins, which can be either Brute Spins or Super Brute Spins, depending on whether 3 or 4 of them land.
How to Grab Free Spins
The free spins are triggered by either three or four Scatter symbols. Three of them trigger the so-called Brute Spins, while four trigger the Super Brute Spins. In essence, the free spins are no different than the regular spins, just with a change of background. There aren’t any specific rules or additional features that apply to them. There’s also no way to extend the free spins. You only get 10 at a time, and what you make out of them, that’s it. Joshua and Jason don’t fool around, there are way too many bad guys out there, so they can’t stay for long.
The only specific thing here, and what sets Super Brute Spins apart from basics Brute Spins, which aren’t that superb, is that xNudge Wilds may become locked in place and stay active throughout the duration of free spins. This is, once again, not guaranteed. There’s just a chance of it happening, and every xNudge Wild behaves differently.
Game Features
In comparison to most of Nolimit City’s games, Brute Force is quite limited in terms of features. I mean, this game is not about the carefully thought-out use of limited force; it’s about being simple and brutal, and every aspect of it is designed in that manner.
Scatter: Landing 3 of them triggers 10 Brute Spins, and landing 4 of them triggers 10 Super Brute Spins.
xNudge Wild: A stacked symbol that can land anywhere on the reel and then nudges its way until it’s fully visible and covers the whole reel. It appears with a random multiplier, which then updates with every nudge. There are three types of them with different multipliers:
- Joshua xNudge Wild: Each nudge increases the multiplier by +1, and the maximum multiplier is 8.
- Jason xNudge Wild: Each nudge increases the multiplier by +2, and the maximum multiplier is 21.
- Hyper xNudge Wild: Each nudge increases the multiplier by +5, and the maximum multiplier is 51.
xNudge Meter: Summarizes the total multiplier of all xNudge Wilds.
Brute Spins: Activated by 3 Scatters, you get 10 free spins.
Super Brute Spins: Activated by 4 Scatters, you get 10 free spins, but any xNudge Wild that lands can become locked in place and last for the duration of the remaining free spins.
Nolimit Booster: Boost your game with one Scatter symbol at the price of 4.7x your base bet, or with 1, 2, or 4 xNugde Wilds for the price of 60x, 333x, and 4,000x your base bet, respectively.
Nolimit Bonus Buy: Buy 10 Brute Spins for 100x your bet or 10 Super Brute Spins for 800x your bet. Or, you can go with a 50/50% chance at either of them for 450x your bet.
